Damien Walters - Ninja/Gymnast/Lunatic

Yeah yeah, very clever. We can all do that kind of thing after a few lagers...

...but joking (and jealousy) aside, this dude is amazing. And he's British too, which is something to be proud of, in a purely xenophobic way, of course.

Toy Story 3 - Teaser Trailer

This is a BIG DEAL, even if you don't like animation/kids films.

So act accordingly...

Busta - Decision mp3 (feat. Jamie Foxx, Mary J Blige, John Legend & Common)

Wow. Soulful mainstream Hip Hop does exist.
-
This is the highlight from Busta Rhymes new LP (which is, on the whole, a bit... meh). Featuring Common, Ms. Blige, John Legend and Jamie Foxx. I love it. Do yourself a favour and give it a listen, Hip Hop fan or not...

Lionel Messi - The Best Footballer In The World

The first of what will be a running series on the best player in the world, Leo Messi, leading up to next weeks Champions League Final.

This goal is breathtaking. Yes, he had acres of space thanks to the dodgy Mexican defence, but still... to decide upon that type of unorthodox finish, and actually execute it as perfectly as he did is nothing short of genius. He's an artist.

A magical moment that reminds me just why football, as the worlds most artistic and expressive game, is the love of my life (after my wife and son of course).

I apologise in advance for the two crap commentators in advance...

Sherlock Holmes - Trailer

From Guy Ritchie... coming soon-ish

Kate Moss - Shot by Craig McDean for Vogue

This is a mental photoshoot. But you can't beat Kate...
-
trendland has the full shoot for your perusal, plus further examples of McDean's work, including those incredible shots of Tilda Swinton.

Last Day Dream (Video)

Directed by Chris Milk.

I like this...

Loopwheeler for Livestrong

More Nike Sportswear news.
-
Japanese collaborator Loopwheeler (the guys who produce the $450 hooded sweatshirts) has produced a Lance Armstrong Livestrong special, featuring some key statistics on the left sleeve, including
-
1,274: Number of days Lance was retired from competitive cycling.
27,500,000: Number of people who died from cancer during that time.
28,000,000: Number of cancer survivors alive today.
8,000,000: Number of people who will die from cancer in 2009
-
Serious stuff.

Rio Ferdinand x Nike AF1

The top picture is what is printed on the innersole of this special edition Nike Air Force 1, designed by Rio Ferdinand of Manchester United The Scum.
-
Part of Nike's 1World collaboration series, where 18 global 'influencers' offer their take on Nike's all time best-selling shoe.
-
Go to hypebeast for more pictures. These will be available at Nike Sportswear's flagship store 21 Mercer in NYC, but there are no plans to release them in the UK.
-
I couldn't care less... I wouldn't wear them if they were given to me for free, stuffed with cash and signed by Robbie Fowler.

I dislike Coldplay...

...or at least everything they've done since their second album.
-
Apart from 'Fix You', which is very obvious but still catchy as hell, I'd rather shove a smashed pint glass up my bum than listen to Chris Martin's flat voice on a record. Anyway, here's a link to a live album they are giving free on their website.

Mos Def - Casa Bey (Video)

New video from Dante... interesting visuals.

From the forthcoming album 'The Ecstatic', which is a must buy for anybody who likes music. Because I say so.

Bert and Ernie - I'm on a Boat (Video)

Humourous...

The Expendables - Promo Posters

Two promo posters for Sly Stallone's forthcoming, star-studded violence extravaganza, The Expendables. You know the drill... click the images for close-ups.
-
The cast list is a who's who of action dudes and tough guys, including Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Arnie, Jason Statham, Steve Austin (the former wrestler) and best of all, an actor called Randy Couture, who surely should have been offered a role in Bruno with a name like that...
-
This hits screens in 2010. I can wait.

Matlock - Moonshine (Video)

A strong piano-laced track from a couple of years back by a white rapper from Chicago. The actual track kicks in after about 45 seconds.

How solid Hip Hop like this gets overlooked in favour of that flashy 'watch and chain' bullshit, I have no idea...

Amanda Palmer - Leeds United (Video)

I like this. I heard it on the radio this morning for the first time, but it's stuck with me...

Magazines - Praise & Hate

After Arena and Buck effectively shut down earlier this year in their existing formats, a new magazine actually launched this month (making it two in as many months, after Wired launched in April). An off shoot from ex-Liverpool Centre Half Phil Babb's moderately successful Golf Punk publication, Football Punk will be available monthly. Steven Gerrard covers the first proper edition of the magazine (the above was a one-off given away with Golf Punk) and costs only 2 quid to begin with. Get stuck in, it's a good read. Which is more than I can say for this...

Click the image for a close-up of this abject fuckery. Nice bracelet tough guy. Now go and make a song about how shiny it is and how much it cost... and this is a Hip Hop music magazine?!? Jesus... although I'm a supporter of the music culture, the writing is clearly on the wall.

Maximo Park - Wraithlike mp3

The excellent opener from Maximo Park's new album, 'Quicken The Heart', available at all good record shops (and some bad ones) now.
-

-
mp3 via mediafire. Go on, download it. It's really rather good.

Step Brothers - Boats 'N Hoes

I've just watched this film. I need a second viewing, but my gut feeling is this is going to be in my Top 10 comedies of all time.

And although I might laugh (a lot) at their piss-taking of rap music, this is still better than much of the mainstream bullshit that constitutes Hip Hop in 2009 (Akon, T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Flo-Rida, I'm looking at you, bastards.)

Bloc Party - Ares Villains Remix (Video)

New Bloc Party video, put together from camera-phone footage shot by fans (in an echo of the Beastie's "Wow, I Fuckin' Shot That!" concert film released a year or two back.

This is from the 'Intimacy Remixed' album. I can see what they are going for here, musically... it's very Justice-esque.

Just not as good.

The Road - Trailer

This looks nuts.

That is all.

Scorsese + Frank = A great fit

Martin Scorsese has signed up to direct a Frank Sinatra biopic being produced by Universal/Mandalay Pictures.
-
What a great fit. The only thing I'm wondering is... how is he going to crow-bar in his obligatory Rolling Stones song on the soundtrack? That might be trickier than casting the lead role...
-
Click HERE for a gratuitous youtube clip of the best section of Goodfellas. Just because...

The Streets - He's behind you, he's got swine flu (Video)

Mike Skinner's new video.

Thanks to the Observer Review section for pointing out this video existed...

Radiohead - True Love Waits (Live) mp3

Just because it's a brilliant, brilliant, goose-bump inducing song, and I'm in that kind of mood.
If this doesn't do it for you, check your pulse... you may be dead.

Madrid-based architects go rural

The offices of Madrid based architects Selgas Cano. I'm moving offices this weekend. To a 4 story, poo-brown building on a roundabout next to Heathrow Airport. I know where I'd rather be.
-
Click HERE to learn more about this incredible office environment, courtesy of today and tomorrow.

Coca-Cola - The Organ Player ad

Weird, but in a good way.

Strange that it comes from the sick-inducingly schmaltzy, global teeth-rotting, obesity facilitating behemoth Coke...

Audi D7 Concept Car

I want one. But they exist only in a German car designers computer hard drive.
-
I love this because it's the closest thing to the mode of transport that Tron would use if he was a real bloke and lived in South London. If I could get inside the German dude's computer, in much the same way that Tron did, I might get to drive it. Yes, I'm a sad Tron-loving bastard. So what? (That's not me, by the way).
-
See more pics at fubiz, including the sexy red brake lights and a few 'daylight' shots.
And don't forget, Tron 2 hits screens in 2011, with the soundtrack and score provided by Daft Punk. I'm giddy with excitement.

The Hangover - Trailer

It's going to be tough to top 'Old School'...

James Corden to cover New Order?

James Corden is rumoured to be recording a cover of the best football song ever, New Order's 'World In Motion'. This is sacrilege. Only the inclusion of John Barnes to recreate his 'rap' could appease me. But not fully.
-
Plus, Corden's star has well and truly fallen of late. He's about as funny as cancer when he hasn't got Ruth Jones to write jokes for him.

Poet Laureate - Professional lookalike?

Carol Ann Duffy (I've met her, I have), has been appointed as the nations poet, and will pick up £5k a year from Her Majesty as a result. She'd be better off working in Netto.
-
I've only posted this because I saw this picture on the Guardian website, and decided she looks like Ricky Gervais in a wig. Now who's being juvenile...

Eminem - 3 A.M. Trailer

Trailers for music videos? That's different...

But watching this, I can see why. It's expensive, and horror themed. Possibly not suitable for the children that Em aims his music at. (That's harsh. His intricate flow and rhyme patterns on this track are impressive, despite the juvenile subject matter and weak musical backing).

The full video premiers today, on US TV channel Cinemax. No doubt it will be ripped from there and available on Youtube 3 minutes later. Stay tuned.
