The Men Who Stare At Goats - Trailer

Cast is strong...

Youth In Revolt - Trailer

Michael Cera is quality, of course, but Zach Galifianakis is a funny dude too...

Cera has been getting some stick lately for playing the same character in every film. Harsh criticism...

In the Loop - Trailer

Out to buy on DVD on Monday, the feature length version of the BBC's 'The Thick of It'.

Malcolm Tucker is a hero of mine...

Usain Bolt - World Record Machine

100m World Record run from a few nights back. The Italian commentators loved it.

And he's only gone and done it again tonight in the 200m... it's almost unfair. He should have to run carrying an egg and spoon from now on.

The UFO guy (Video)

Highlights include:

"Airforce 1... where they found all that stuff"
"I'm always hallucinating, who really knows what I'm looking at"
"Water man, you heard the man... WATER"

Note to journo's - please interview more pissed-up/high people. It will make watching the news a more enjoyable experience.

Kasabian - Where Did All the Love Go? (Video)

I like this track, and hope it performs well as a single (it came out on Monday. Hit iTunes now if you don't have it. Actually... just buy the album.)

Weird point of note: The singer looks like Russell Brand's mate/bloke who writes all his funny jokes, Matt Morgan.

Avatar - Trailer

From James Cameron, who is either excellent (Terminator 2, Aliens) or shite (the Celine Dion, boat sinking film.... I refuse to type it's name in case a google search by an imbecile returns this blog as a result).

Jay-Z x Mad Max 3 = Run This Town (Video)

Hov, Ri-Ri and 'Ye live from Tina Turner's Terrordome? Or were they the entertainment at Morpheus's big Zion festival? Either way, it looks expensive.

Arctic Monkeys - My Propeller mp3

One of the standout tracks from the Arctic's forthcoming album 'Humbug', available from Monday. Listening to the lyrics, I think he's talking about his dinkle.

Klarity - The City Is Ours (Video)

I had the pleasure of working with this intelligent gentleman for 2 years.

A student of life, and a true believer in the art and science of Hip Hop.

One to watch.

NME in a spot of bother

With print-media on its arse, another legendary title looks to be in a spot of bother. In a year that has seen Arena, Buck and HHC close, the NME are reporting a 25% drop off in year on year circulation.
-
The NME was once the most important music publication in the country. With writers like Julie Burchill and Tony Parsons, it helped helped break bands like The Smiths and The Sex Pistols. Now, it's a teeny bopper magazine full of shit bands with cool haircuts and nut-squashing jeans. The thing is, the pop charts show there is still a huge market for this type of style-over-substance poppy guitar music, so I can only assume it's the slow death of print media that is the cause.
-
Looks like the 'internets' have won.

Kooley High - Kooley Is High (Video)

Produced by French DJ/Producer Dela.

An update on the J Dilla/De La Soul classic 'Stakes Is High'.

Bloc Party - One More Chance (Video)

I only saw this video for the first time a week ago. It's all a bit weird isn't it? It makes me feel sad...

Clutchy Hopkins - The Old Spot mp3

Taken from the above album, more beats from the mysterious Clutchy Hopkins.

The Lovely Bones - Trailer

Trailer kicks in around the 30sec mark...

Never read the book (it's for girls, isn't it?), but I'll catch this.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...

I'm sad to say that this was spotted on the streets of London. A chrome Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster. Click for a close up.
-
I wonder if the owner sticks his head out of the window shouting "Look at me! Look at me!" at passers by? If you must, go to Luxist to read more about this £250,000 abomination.

The Blind Side - Trailer

Based on a true story.

Which doesnt excuse it from being preachy and shit and starring Sandra Bullock, but thems the facts.

I'll catch it on DVD. Possibly.

As time passes and the dude gets older, how are they going to make Bullock look like an old banger? Oh wait...

Lykke Li and The Roots in NYC

Little Bit live.

Lykke and Questlove... you can't go wrong.

Keri Hilson - Good Lord!

Wow. "Emerging R&B star" (?) Keri Hilson covers this months Complex mag.
Click image for the wonderful close up.
-
And yes... it is worth it's own post.

Footballers - Disgusting

Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Shameful. He's not been at Barca for two minutes and he's kissing the badge.
-
He's Swedish. How has he got this sudden 'love' for Barcelona? This kind of thing is a feeble attempt to ingratiate yourself with your new clubs support, but if I was a Barca fan (a proper one, rather than the admirer that I am), I'd be furious.
-
Although, I suppose I'd love my employers if they paid me £150,000 per week.

Jay-Z's rock & roll cover art

Jay has gone all Coldplay for the cover of his new album.
-
Some eagle-eyed music bloggers have suggested that this is effectively an amalgamation of a cover by the Secret Machines and some imagery from U2's last album. Click the links and see what you think.
-
For what it's worth, I like it a alot. It's a darn sight more creative than most Hip Hop album covers, and without question it's 100 times better than a close up of Mr. Z wearing a Yankees baseball hat. Track list below. I'm keen to hear Jay and MGMT on the same track, although form the 'additional production' credit, I imagine that Kanye has sampled a huge chunk of one of their tracks and been forced to include them as assistant producers.

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Trailer

From Wes 'Royal Tenenbaums' Anderson.

Featuring the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep and, of course, Bill Murray.
