Hold on... there's clearly been some mistake.
I'm a little concerned that Josh Brolin didn't get a nod for his spooky portrayal of George W. Bush in 'W.', but he did get recognised for 'Milk', and there are larger things at play when it comes to that film (it was distinctly average, it was about an unpopular dickhead, and nobody wants to give 'Dubya' an award, even indirectly).

But what I can't forgive is there is no Michael Sheen in this list. His performance in 'Frost/Nixon', as David Frost, glued the film together. Yes, Langella was good, but it was essentially an impersonation. Sheen was totally believable as a young interviewer out of his comfort zone... tension etched across his face. I'm gutted for him, and they'll probably ignore him next year too, for his upcoming role as Brian Clough in 'The Damned United'.
