Nixon x Beastie Boys

Nixon watches team up with the Hot Sauce Committee.
*
RADCollector says: “With Mike D with a bottle of cognac on the face and the quotation ”I accept this award on behalf of the band” written on the band, the Maritime themed watch fits the Beastie steez to a tee. Only 20 global retailers will be dropping one of four colorways each week in December."

Not my thing personally, but trashily humourous. You can pick one up at Dover Street Market while stocks last.

Broken Bells - October mp3

The Broken Bells album is coming in March. I have it now, and I'm trying to get into it now. For those who don't know, Broken Bells is DJ Dangermouse and the dude from The Shins.
-
Here is an album track called 'October'. It starts off slow and epic, but gets going pretty quickly. It's kind of a polished American indie-pop vibe, which Dangermouse can do in his sleep.

Update: mp3 removed due to the below:

"On behalf of Columbia Records, Monotone and Broken Bells, we would kindly ask you not to post copies of the "Broken Bells" / eponymous album on your site (or any non-preview tracks from Broken Bells’ new album - street date 9th March). We do appreciate that you are fans of / are promoting Broken Bells, but the label, management and artists would greatly appreciate your co-operation in removing your links to the pirate files in question."

Fraggle Rock Tee's

I used to love Fraggle Rock. The little builder dudes were classic.
Still, I'm not sure a man of my age could carry these off.

BlakRoc - First the album, now the car...?

The album drops next week, and it's good. How can it not be?
-
But rarely is my first thought, having found an album that I like;
"now I just need the car to go with it".
-
Maybe that's why Dame Dash is rich and I'm not.

1800 Tequila - Essential Artists Bottle Range

In the US, Tequila has quickly become the club drink of choice. Tequila Silver in particular. The success of Patron is evidence of this.
-
1800 Tequila are enhancing the current coolness of the drink with this range of limited edition bottles. Expect to see them on the tables of Paris Hilton and Jay-Z from November.

APC x Supreme = Fuck 'em

As has been well documented, I'm a fan of APC. Supreme... not so much, but some of their Tee's are good. It's mainly gear for Skateboarders or Street Fashion enthusiasts. I'm too old to do the former, and too old to pull off the latter convincingly.
-
This collabo smacks of lazyness. The embroidery looks cheap, and whilst the pin badge is pretty smart, this appears little more than a collabo to suck in gear fanatics and get them to part with their hard earned pound/dollar/yen. You can guarantee these come at a premium.
-
Nick Schonberger of High Snobiety has spotted this opportunism, but then launched a passionate defence; arguing that this is an attempt at satire from APC and Supreme. I'm not so sure.
-
Either way, APC jeans don't fit me...

Joaquin Pheonix - Rapper?

^ River's brother and my other wife.
*
So... reports yesterday suggest that Casey Affleck's (the talented one) new film is all set to be a documentary, based around his friend Joaquin's efforts to become a rap star. Sounds like the pitch for Will Ferrell comedy to me, but who am I to judge?
*
Most upsetting of all is that media outlets carrying the story are saying that Joaquin thinks Puffy, oh I'm sorry... DIDDY, is the man to make him the new Biggie Smalls, and has enlisted his help as a mentor. (Are you shaking your head yet? I am...)
Go HERE to read the NME's story if you don't believe me.
