Scott 'The Sartorialist' Schuman spotted him at Costume National in Milan, took his photo, and pasted it into his blog (for those who didn't know what The Sartorialist was, that's it in a nutshell). Yes, it's all a bit vacuous, and it really is only images (very rarely, Schuman will comment on cut, colour, fit and effortlessness) but I like looking at 'nice things', and this blog ticks all the boxes. If you like clothes, design and people, then get familiar.

Pharrell's 'Pacifist' Bullet-proof Vest

"After just announcing their partnership with Japanese brand Visvim for a line called Moncler V, the classic outerwear label now brings news of a collection by Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams. The collection features an assortment of all-black jackets, and includes a “pacifist” version of the bulletproof jacket (pictured) with Velcro-ed side slits, reversible matte/shiny down vests and elongated puffers. Each jacket is built with textiles from Bionic Yarn, a Pharrell controlled company that produces fabric from recycled plastic bottles. Pharrell's New Hoodie - Worth More Than Your Car

Pharrell has bought himself a new grey hooded jacket. Not just any hooded jacket though... this is made by Hermes of Paris, and is made from Crocodile skin.

Pharrell has got form for spending silly money with Hermes on one-off bags, but this is different. Not only is it ugly, but when those French chaps make clothes with Crocodile, the price tag becomes astronomical. Conservative estimates suggest this could have cost him $18,000. Not so conservative estimates say it could have been as much as $75,000.

On his Japanese 'honeyee mag' blog mini-site he posted the above picture with the caption "Couldn't resist". Makes you sick doesn't it?

APC x Supreme = Fuck 'em

As has been well documented, I'm a fan of APC. Supreme... not so much, but some of their Tee's are good. It's mainly gear for Skateboarders or Street Fashion enthusiasts. I'm too old to do the former, and too old to pull off the latter convincingly.

This collabo smacks of lazyness. The embroidery looks cheap, and whilst the pin badge is pretty smart, this appears little more than a collabo to suck in gear fanatics and get them to part with their hard earned pound/dollar/yen. You can guarantee these come at a premium.

Nick Schonberger of High Snobiety has spotted this opportunism, but then launched a passionate defence; arguing that this is an attempt at satire from APC and Supreme. I'm not so sure.

Either way, APC jeans don't fit me...

Monaco yacht builders Wally have teamed up with France's premier posh-gear peddler Hermes to create WHY, Wally Hermes Yachts. If this ever gets built, I would pay money just to look at it.

New Shofolk A/W range

Folk's footwear line, entitled Shofolk (pronounced Shoe Folk, not 'Show' Folk) has always been a favourite of mine. The Finlay, pictured above, is a new derby for this year (and I want a pair).

I'll admit that I'm a sucker for a designer label, but these could have been made by Jesus and I wouldn't go near them wearing an Anti-Swine Flu suit and holding a massive barge pole.

A small price to pay if your aim in life is to look like Doc Brown when he comes back from the future in his flying Delorean at the end of Back To The Future 1.

Matthew Williamson for H&M

This is the most wearable thing in this line. H&M have had success in the past (most notably with the CDG collection) when teaming up with high fashion types, but this dies on it's arse.

It's all too fruity and flamboyant (I'm pretty fucking far from being a homophobe, if you were wondering) for High Street retail. Sure, it'll end up on ebay at hyper inflated prices, but nobody will actually wear these clothes in public. There's a snake-skin inspired shorts-suit that made me puke up into my mouth. Evil, evil clothing.

Liam Gallagher launches 'Pretty Green'

Liam launched a clothing label this week.

Named after a track by The Jam, Pretty Green will, according to its press release " Encapsulate the style and swagger of the most iconic front man of our generation". No matter what you think of my fellow Burnage-bred, sun-sheeeeiiiine singing arrogance machine, he is the best front man since Kurt Cobain (anyone who says Axl Rose, fuck off now). Style wise, he's missed as much as he's hit, but this line will be heavily mod influenced, which is a safe bet.

I'm looking forward to seeing the sample images... I'd have money on the coats being excellent.

Jil Sander to create line for Uniqlo

Jil Sander, she (formerly) of the Prada-owned label of the same name, is returning to design a line for cheap and cheerful Japanese High Street outfit Uniqlo, after a number of years away from the spotlight.

You've got to take your hat off to Uniqlo. After their recent Designers-Invitation efforts, most notably with Opening Ceremony, they've taken the high-street-meets-high-end idea (which reached it's pinnacle through H&M's Comme des Garcons capsule collection) to new heights.

I can see the fit with Sander in terms of the minimalism of Uniqlo, but I recall her designs as being quite muted (which her label has continued under Raf Simons), whereas her new hosts tend to go colour-mental, whether it be Summer or Winter. All will be revealed this autumn.
